Red Octopus Fable

Octopus Fable Final

Long Long ago and far far away a red octopus was born. His mother loved him and fed him and he didn’t realize how different he was until he started growing up. Then he realized that everyone else blended with the dark sea floor and he stood out like a bright light.
He had trouble catching food because everyone could see him coming and they ran away. The other octopi laughed at him and bullied him when he came around.
One day there was a terrible storm and a cruise boat sank. The storm blew the survivors so far away the search planes couldn’t find them.
The Red Octopus realized what was going on and created ink trails in the water leading the survivors. The planes followed the ink trails and the survivors were saved.
The next day the Blue Fairy visited the Red Octopus. Because he had been kind and brave they would take him somewhere else and transform him into a beautiful flower. The world would admire him for his beauty and celebrate his differences. That is how we have the Red Octopus Flower today.

The moral of the story I’ll leave up to you. What do you think the moral should be?

  4. A very imaginative photo. Indeed the flower, when looked at carefully, resembles an octopus. But I would never has seen it that way without your sense of poetry.
